The JL is the Jeep Wrangler built from 2018 onward, sold as the two-door JL, the four-door JL Unlimited (JLU), and the plug-in hybrid 4xe. Everything below is screened for JL, JLU and 4xe fitment.

The 4xe is not just a JLU with a battery

The 4xe carries its hybrid battery under the rear seat, which changes the cargo floor. Cargo liners and cargo mats are sold as 4xe-specific parts, and several are split again by whether your Wrangler has the factory subwoofer — the subwoofer occupies part of the same cargo area.

So for a 4xe there are two things to check before ordering a cargo liner: that the part lists 4xe fitment at all, and whether it is the with subwoofer or without subwoofer version. A standard JLU liner will not sit correctly in a 4xe.

2018 buyers: confirm JL, not JK

Both generations were sold in 2018. If your Wrangler is a 2018, confirm it is a JL before ordering — JK parts will not fit a JL, and the reverse is equally true.

Common questions

Do JL parts fit a Gladiator JT? Front-end parts often do, because the JT shares much of its front clip with the JL. Anything from the cab back does not. See Gladiator JT accessories.

Do 4xe parts differ from JLU parts? For most exterior parts, no. For cargo liners, cargo mats and some rear interior trim, yes — order the 4xe version.

Does a JL bumper fit a JLU? Front bumpers are generally shared. Rear bumpers, side steps and rocker protection follow the wheelbase, so they are door-count specific.

What is the difference between JL and JLU? Two doors versus four, and a longer wheelbase. Any part that spans the side of the vehicle is specific to one or the other.
